Korean Sweet Black Beans Tuesday, October 12, 2010 @ 5:06 PM
One of my favorite Korean side dishes is the sweet black beans. Each bite has bursts of sweet and salty flavor. They can be eaten as a tasty snack or a side dish.

Sweet Black Beans:
yield: about 1 cup

Ingredients:
3/4 cup black beans
1-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp light corn syrup
4 tbsp sugar
2 tsp seasame seeds

Directions:
1. Wash and soak black beans in water for 1 hour.
2. In a deep saucepan, boil water and black beans on high for 20 minutes.
3. Add soy sauce, corn syrup and sugar. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 25 minutes until most of the liquid evaporates. Stir constantly or the beans will burn.
4. Remove from heat and add in sesame seeds. Cool to room temperature and serve.

This is great, I've been looking for a recipe on how to make these. I'll definitely try this.
